THIS THIS.The first time I watched this episode I was too distracted by all of the Makorra to notice, but the second time I watched, what really stood out to me was how Asami remains standing all by herself when Mako runs to Korra at the end. She doesn’t even attempt to join in, she just stands there watching.
Heart = broken.
I just feel so horrible for her, and I can’t even imagine what is going through her mind. She has lost everything and she’s going to lose even more.
Bolin is also pretty far back. I guess this is kind of showing how far they are from what they want because Mako is at the front.

Can I just say how well this couple illustrates the possibility for harmony between benders and nonbenders?
Because here we have the daughter of a powerful, influential non-bender family whose mother was killed by a firebender, and yet she sacrificed everything to protect the boy she loves - a firebender - because she understands the importance of judging individuals for who rather than what they are.

Honestly, there — have my feelings written down and why I’m not a Makorra shipper. I agree that if there’s real development, it wouldn’t be so bad, but using Bolin and Asami as throw away’s would make me dislike the ship on simple merit.
